Here are some tips that will help you to eliminate/ prevent body odor.
Shower Regularly
Any person who wants to get rid of body odor would do well to have a shower daily. If you think you sweat more than normal, bathe twice a day to prevent the bad odor causing bacteria from accumulating on your skin.
The two places of the body where bacteria love to proliferate because of the hot and humid conditions they get there are the armpits and the groin Pay special attention to scrub these areas clean. Use an anti bacterial soap if necessary.
2. Wear the Right Clothes
Avoiding very tight fitting clothes and opting for garments which allow the skin to breathe can help take care of body odour too.
Also choose the fabrics you wear during the summer months with utmost care.
Nylon, lycra, georgette and spandex do not allow the skin to breathe and you are more likely to have a nastier odor emanating from your body if you choose to wear these instead of linen and cotton. That is partly because the cotton based clothes absorb the sweat produced and do not allow it to become a breeding ground for the bacteria present on the surface of the skin.
3. Shave Your Underarms
The underarm hair trap the sweat and bacteria and turn the armpits into the foulest smelling parts of the body. Shave the underarms during the summer months, to keep such offensive odors at bay.
4. Use a Lemon
lemon to get rid of beody odor
Well, that can actually be the most cost effective home remedy for dealing with body odor. After you pat yourself dry after a shower, just rub a slice of lemon gently in your armpits. Leave it on for a few seconds and then pat the armpits dry using a tissue or a towel. The lemon helps get rid of BO by changing the pH value of the skin and creating an acidic environment where even the most stubborn of bacteria cannot survive.
Be careful not to rub it too hard and refrain from overdoing it. Lemon might cause an allergic reaction on a sensitive skin.
5. Use Apple Cider
Dab a few drops of apple cider to the armpits before you put on your clothes.
6. Hydrogen Peroxide
Dissolve nearly two spoonfuls of hydrogen peroxide in 2 liters of water and wash the underarms thoroughly with this water. This is another simple home remedy for eliminating body odor.
7. Inexpensive Oils
Add a few drops of aromatic oils like rosemary, peppermint, lavender, tea tree or pine to your bathing water. Or simply, dab on a spoonful of any of these oils on to a wet tissue and rub the paper gently across your underarms. The mild fragrance will help you fight the nasty, obnoxious odors for some time.
8. Use Deodorants Sensibly
use deodorants to fight body odourI have seen youngsters today spray deodorants on to themselves like crazy.
Just keep in mind that if you have a foul smell emanating from your body, you cannot drown it by spraying deodorants heavily. They can be effective only when you are clean.
You can choose between various roll-on deodorants and sprays, though I personally avoid the roll-ons because of the allergies they are capable of causing. Infact, I spray my deodorant only to my clothes and not to my skin, just to avoid getting severe chemical reactions.
9. Change Your Clothes Daily
When hot weather causes profuse sweating, one should make it a point to wear fresh clothes every day. Under garments and socks, in particular, must be changed on a daily basis.
10. Carry an Extra Shirt
To be on the safe side, always carry an extra short with you in hot weather, so that you do ot have to go thought the embarrassment of wearing a stinky shirt to an important business meeting, briefing business clients or seeing your date.
